Universal Credit at Living Well Network Open Morning – Thursday 25 January

It will be business as usual, with a bit of a difference this Thursday, 25 January when the first Living Well Network Open Morning of 2018 focuses on everything you ever wanted to know about Universal Credit.

The former monthly event , hosted by Mosaic Clubhouse at the Living Well Partnership HQ, at 65 Effra Road, Brixton will be going quarterly and each session will have a theme. The next one in April will focus on physical activity and wellbeing.

Explains Lee Elliott, Mosaic’s Employment , Information & Training Coordinator, “Between 11am and 12 noon we’ll have the usual market-style event (where people can find out about services and community activities to support their wellbeing) followed between 12 – 12:30 by short presentations from all the benefit-advice/guidance organisations about what they do to support people around Universal Credit.”

The event follows hot on the heels of the clubhouse’s successful Away Day. Maresa Ness, Mosaic’s invigorated Chief Executive said the day highlighted “how amazingly busy we are, supporting unprecedented numbers of people,” which included a rising demand on the innovative Evening Sanctuary alternative for those in crisis.

Last year had seen Mosaic one of just three organisations shortlisted in the Public Mental Health and Wellbeing category of the prestigious Royal Society for Public Health’s Health & Wellbeing Awards 2017, which recognises efforts to prevent mental illness and promote mental health. It had also seen the clubhouse’s partnership working increased throughout the year.

In her New Year resolution for 2018, Maresa cites, “More well-being initiatives to support people to consider their physical health and creating opportunities to reduce early deaths among those we support who live with a mental health condition. ”
